UNION Craft Brewing – Packaging Position

SUMMARY

UNION Craft Brewing, located in Baltimore, MD, is looking for a part time (Monday-Wednesday) Packaging team member.  Responsibilities include canning, kegging, cleaning, and maintenance of packaging equipment. This person will be required to learn all aspects of the canning line and packaging and must be professional and motivated. This is an entry level position with opportunities to grow your career in a fun and supportive environment in the craft beer industry. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the daily operation of UNION Craft Brewing’s canning line and supporting equipment
  • Follow UCB’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) 
  • Prepare for next day packaging operations, including the loading, and staging of required packaging materials 
  • Adheres to and advance UCB’s core values
  • Follow, observe, and enforce all safety rules and regulations
  • Work well with coworkers on the canning line team under the direction of the packaging manager
  • UNION Craft Brewing may revise or require different tasks when circumstances demand including, but not limited to, emergencies, changes in staffing, demands of other departments, workload, or rush orders

BONUS QUALITIES & SKILLS

  • Experience working in a production/packaging brewery or manufacturing environment
  • Forklift experience and/or certification
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Word/Excel and/or Google Docs/Sheets
  • Mechanical knowledge & skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to sit, stand, walk, or be on your feet for prolonged periods
  • Able to regularly twist, turn, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, crawl, lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 55 pounds using appropriate techniques and tools
  • Able to maneuver packages of any weight above 180 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
  • Able to move palletized goods exceeding 500-pounds, using appropriate techniques and tools
  • Able to work in a factory/production environment which may be loud, slick, humid, cold, hot
  • Able to comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards
