Rye Barrel Aged Baltic Porter

This lager is built different.

We took a strong, dark lager beer and aged it in Baltimore Spirits Company Epoch Rye Whiskey barrels for 8 months before transfer to our stainless steel tanks to condition for another 14 months.

This robust porter pours a rich mahogany brown, just shy of black, with tight and persistent beige head. Rich and malty aromatics of toasted pumpernickel, milk chocolate, dried fig, emerge alongside heady notes of rye whiskey and charred oak. Full bodied and velvety smooth texture with just enough carbonation to bring the beer to life on the palate. Finishes strong with a touch of rye whiskey warmth and mild hop bitterness.
