Running a small business comes with many, many challenges. The highs and lows, wins and losses, all add up to tell the story of perseverance. This is the value we celebrate in our 11th year of business. The last 11 years have been a real adventure. And there is no adventure without adversity. Through the ever-changing landscape of the beer industry, the rising tide of social, political, and personal accountability, and the winding paths of what it means to be a for-profit business today, UNION continues to grow and change into the company it is meant to be. We persevere, challenging ourselves to be the best we can be in the face of adversity, and rise to meet the opportunities as they come.

Each year, as our anniversary approaches, we take stock of how far we’ve come. From a scrappy 3-person team, upcycling old floorboards into a tiny tasting room, pouring beer from refurbished, decades old, draft systems found in basements, and struggling to get that last few ounces of beer into a customer’s 20-year-old growler that they last cleaned 18 years ago, to our current home at the Union Collective – a place where our staff of 40+ people, can focus on quality, hospitality, and community engagement.

We are so proud. Proud of ourselves and our work. Proud of our teammates. Proud of our city and state. But more importantly than pride, we feel a deep sense of gratitude for you, reading this right now. If you’ve bought our beer, even once, over the last 11 years – Thank you! IF you’ve come by on a Saturday to take a tour or enjoy a fresh pint – Thank you! If you’ve shared a selfie with a Steady Eddie at the yard – Thank you! We appreciate you. We love you. We can’t do it without you.
