In the 2nd half of 2020 we found ourselves amidst a global pandemic that wiped out 2/3 of our business and faced allegations of harassment that shook us to our core. We asked ourselves “How did we get here”? We looked back. We looked within. We looked to each other. We asked for help. We turned our focus away from the business of marketing and selling and instead focused on fixing our house, caring for our people, redefining our values, and charting our path forward.
The accused individual is no longer with the Company.
We’ve had our owners, management, and staff complete Equal Opportunity and Anti-Harassment training.
We’ve hired a full time, in-house, HR Manager.
Our former Lead Brewer has been promoted to Brewery Production Manager.
We’ve re-written policy and crystallized our company values.
We’ve added a robust and valuable Employee Assistance Program.
We have informed our staff of our intention to become Employee Owned.
We’ve put the future of of our culture in the hands of our staff to redefine as they want it to be.
We know that doing what we do is a privilege. We know that we must work to reestablish the goodwill and trust that we once enjoyed and took for granted. Our mission, since day one, is simple: To brew great beer, to foster and nourish the soul of our community, and create an environment for our most important asset – our team – in which to thrive. Much has changed since we first opened our doors, but this mission has not changed. We believe we are brewing at the highest level we have achieved in our 8+ years in business. We have celebrated our successes, and we have learned from our failures. We intend to fight for every customer, to remain humble and focused, to take care of our staff and our community, to be more inclusive than ever before and to always be a beacon for positivity for all those that join us.
Our sincerest gratitude to our staff that has supported us through these trying times. Your contributions and resolve have been inspirational. Our sincerest gratitude to our friends, fans, and family that stand by us and to all of you reading this for your continued engagement.
We will continue to focus on Issues of harassment, equality, diversity, conduct, and responsibility. The steps we have taken are just the beginning of ongoing and evolving process, and they will not be the last.
A new year is upon us and with it, a new UNION.
