It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved “Zadie”, Mr. Henry Benesch. Zadie passed away peacefully in his sleep last night, just a few days shy of his 101st Birthday.
Zadie, a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army and our Co-Founder Adam’s grandfather, was with us from the start. He loved the youthful energy at the brewery and took to assembling all of our cardboard case trays. Zadie shared his wisdom, gruff humor, and a sparkling smile with everyone here. He loved UNION with all his heart, and we loved him right back. While we mourn this huge loss, we celebrate his life and everything he’s given us over the years.
Zadie, thank you. We love you and we will never forget you.
