You know how some people spend their golden years lounging on the beach? Not Zadie. He spent his golden years folding 600 case trays a day here at UNION. He worked tirelessly from the age of 93 until he was 101, and though he mastered the art of hard work, he also showed us how to enjoy the simple pleasures—like a good beer.

Now, every year, we gather to celebrate the life of Henry “Zadie” Benesch, our Co-Founder Adam Benesch’s grandfather. His legacy lives on through our tribute beer, Zadie’s Lager, created in his honor, as well as the things he loved. We’ll celebrate with live music, bingo, and the annual Box Folding Competition (trust us, it’s more exciting than it sounds), plus a “shotgun salute” of Blackwing Schwarzbier to mark Zadie’s 105th birthday.

Come share a pint, swap stories, and raise a glass to Zadie.
