New Year-Round IPA Added To Brewery’s Core Line, Cans To Debut In April
Baltimore, MD, February 8, 2019 — Union Craft Brewing Company today announced the March release of Divine IPA, their first addition to their year-round, core line of beers, since the addition of Skipjack Pilsner in 2017. The first kegs of Divine will be tapped in the Maryland, DC, & Northern Virginia markets in early March, with cans expected to follow in April.
Divine, described on the can as a “Perversely Hoppy Ale” is brewed with Citra and Mosaic hops lending a floral, citrus, and tropical fruit aroma to the brew. Notes of orange, lemon, guava, grass, & a piney resin drive the flavor profile. It’s a clean and quaffable IPA with a clear, bright appearance and a bold, yet drinkable flavor.
“When I started thinking about creating a year-round IPA, I mused about the IPA I would want to drink all the time,” says UNION’s Co-Founder and Director of Brewing Operations, Kevin Blodger. “So that leads to a bright, juicy, hop-forward beer with a soft pillowy malt background. We use Pilsner and Oat malt to carry forward this great stone fruit and citrus flavor and aroma that really pops out of the glass and onto your tongue. I’m really proud of this beer and excited that it will be available year round”.
Jon Zerivitz, Co-Founder & Creative Director adds, “Adding an IPA to our core line has been something we had been wanting to do for years, but we didn’t want to rush it. Through a thoughtful approach and many iterations, we waited patiently until we had the right recipe – one that meets the expectations of today’s IPA drinkers and one that we can produce consistently year round. We think Divine will become a reliable, go-to IPA for all the hop lovers in the area.”
