Dark Spot Aged in Bourbon, Maple Syrup Barrels
After Dark Spot Imperial Stout spent 13.5 months in barrels that previously held Cognac and Rye Whiskey, we siphoned off 3 barrels and put it into barrels that previously held Bourbon and Maple Syrup for additional 3.5 months.
The result is Sweet Spot. Inspired by chocolate doughnuts, pancakes, maple logs, and toffee.
Sweet Spot pours like black maple syrup with a walnut brown foam. The aromas of a chocolate-covered doughnut with a maple glaze and double-fried batter take over. English toffee, chocolate fudge brownie, and a sticky maple log surround your taste buds with hints of charred oak, tobacco, and a light hint of hardwood smoke. You’re left with a cask-strength whiskey and an unrefined, dry oak finish. Right where you want to be. Welcome to the Sweet Spot.
